Congratulations to the Crestwood Chargers Boys Varsity Tennis Team for an incredible season, earning the title of League Champions alongside Garden City! A special shoutout to our 1st place medalists: Mohamad Hammoud at 1 Singles, Ali Fawaz at 2 Singles, and Ahmad El Dana at 4 Singles. Everyone else secured strong 2nd place finishes! We also want to recognize our four seniors as they wrap up their high school journey and step into exciting futures. To the rest of the team, we can’t wait to see you back next year! A special acknowledgment to Coaches Tracy Besek, a proud Crestwood alum and former tennis player, and Emma Besek for their remarkable first year as coaches, leading the team to this historic achievement. #ChargerTennis

Crestwood School District’s Homecoming was a heartwarming celebration of what it means to be a Charger for life. Students from Hillcrest, Highview, Kinloch, Riverside, and Crestwood High, along with parents, staff, and community members, all came together in unity. The parade and game showcased the talents of our band, robotics team, Riverside football and cheerleaders, Crestwood cheer, CCEF, PTAs, firefighters, police, and local leaders, all proudly supporting one strong community. This year, we honored Dr. Youssef Mosallam, NASS 2024 Superintendent of the Year, making the celebration even more special. The Crestwood Alumni Association, as always, added the perfect touch, judging floats and joining in the festivities, reminding us that Homecoming is about coming back to where it all began. A special thank you to Mrs. Jen Ray, Student Council, Student Government, Mrs. Diana Johns, NHS, and all our guests for making this year’s Homecoming an unforgettable Charger tradition!

Crestwood High kicked off Homecoming at the our multipurpose facility and field with exciting games like tug-of-war, potato sack races, and tic-tac-toe, where the seniors claimed victory. The band delivered a fantastic performance, and the festivities concluded with the naming of the 2024 Grand Marshal, Mr. Hackney. Congratulations to the senior class for also winning Spirit Week and earning the most total points!

Dear Riverside Middle School Families, We want to inform you that Riverside Middle School is currently on lockdown as a precautionary measure due to a threat that was made. Please know that no one is currently in the building, and all students and staff are safe. As a precaution, the Dearborn Heights Police Department is on site, and we are working directly with them to ensure everyone’s safety. The Crestwood School District proudly congratulates the Crestwood High School Marching Band for their outstanding performance at the 2024 Trenton Invitational! The band secured 1st place with a score of 76.9 for their show, "Ghost Ship." In addition, they received top honors with caption awards for the highest scores in Music, Marching, and Color Guard.

Dr. Mosallam concluded his historic journey at the National Association of School Superintendents (NASS) Conference by meeting renowned author and educator Stephen M.R. Covey, son of the late Stephen R. Covey, best known for The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People. As the 2024 NASS Conference draws to a close, the Crestwood School District shined brightly among school district leaders across the nation. At tonight's Crestwood Board of Education meeting, the Crestwood High School National Honor Society, Under the dedicated guidance of Mrs. Diana Johns and Mrs. Lina Abbas, was recognized for their exceptional efforts, collecting an impressive 84 pints of blood during the 2023-2024 school year, by Southeastern Michigan American Red Cross Bio-Medical Committee. This achievement is a testament not only to the hard work of our NHS students and advisors, but also to the strong support and commitment of the entire Crestwood School District. Last night’s 2024 bond community presentation at the Highview Elementary School Media Center was a great success! Dr. Mosallam shared the proposal developed by a dedicated committee of students, teachers, parents, staff, and community members following a thorough needs assessment and approved by the Crestwood School Board. We are excited for our next presentation at Kinloch Elementary on Wednesday, September 11, 2024. A huge thank you to Principal Linda Taleb and the Highview staff for their warm hospitality, and to everyone who joined us for the insightful community discussion.
