The McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act of 2002 requires that each state educational agency shall ensure that each child of a homeless individual and each homeless youth have equal access to the same free, appropriate public education, including a public preschool education, as provided to other children and youth.  At Crestwood the Director of Special Services is the contact person for all homeless students who may require services.  The Director of Special Services is also known as the Homeless Liaison.  Crestwood belongs to the Wayne County Homeless Consortium and uses their referral process to assist students and families.
